Wall Middle School Library
Wall Middle School Library Policy
Welcome to our library!  We are excited to begin another year at Wall Middle School Library.  There are some things that are important for you to know about our library. To provide an enjoyable library experience for your child.

The library is a facility wherein vast resources of information are available to our students.  It is urged that this facility be used to its capacity all during the school day.  However, the following methods of use are prescribed and will be stictly adhered to by all concerned.

The library is open from 7:50-3:25 on school days.  Students in 6th grade through 8th grade  are allowed to check out "2" library books.  All books are given a three week lending period. Students at anytime can recheck a book.  A 5-cent fine will be charged for each school day the book is overdue. Holidays are not counted.  There are certain sources of material that are not to be taken from the library  unless a teacher is responsible for them. These include reference books and reserve materials.

It is extremely important that the parent, teacher, student, and librarian work together to teach student respect for books and their content. Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind when handling any book:

     1. If you happen to tear a page, please bring it to the librarian to fix with special tape.

     2. Use a bookmark instead of turning down page corners to remember where you stopped
          reading.

     3. Any person losing a library book will be expected to pay for the book(s)

     4. Any book damaged ( water spills, marks, etc.) might need to pay a fee for damages.

     5. DO NOT refile books

     6. Parent Notes for some books are required.  The content might be too young adult for
         some students.

You and your child will be responsible for any items he/she checks out . Please visit Wall Libraries on line at www.wallisd.net. Simply click on you child's school and you can access our school's online catalog.  There you can find our books  as well as SAFE websites.

Please contact Kay Cotter at 325-651-7648 ext. 266 or to learn more or have any specific question you may have about the library.

REMEMBER, READING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITY YOU CAN SHARE WITH YOUE CHILD TO HELP HIM/HER BE A SUCCESSFUL, LIFE-LONG LEARNER!
